LEGAL PERMIT

LEGAL PERMIT is an official authorization from BPOM, ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of drugs, food, cosmetics, and health products through regulation, testing, and enforcement.

BPOM is a non-ministerial government agency tasked with supervising and regulating drugs, food, cosmetics, and other health products

BPOM's main objective is to protect the public from the dangers that may arise from consuming these products.

BPOM Authority

  • Establish standards and requirements for safety, efficacy/benefits, and quality
  • Supervise production facilities, distribution, and pharmaceutical services

  • Monitor drug and food labels and advertisements
  • Conduct prevention, deterrence, intelligence, and investigations into violations of laws and regulations

A halal permit is a halal certificate which is an acknowledgment of the halalness of a product. This certificate is issued by the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag). Halal certification is one of the important requirements for marketing products in Indonesia, especially for the Muslim community.

Requirements and flow of halal certification application:

  1. Create an account via ptsp.halal.go.id
  2. Prepare halal certification application data
  3. Select a Halal Product Process Companion (PPH)
  4. Complete the application data with the PPH Companion
  5. Submit a halal certification application via SIHALAL

Products that must have a halal certificate:

Food, Beverages, Medicines, Cosmetics, Chemical products, Biological products, Genetically engineered products, Used goods.

Purpose of halal certification

Halal certification aims to provide assurance to consumers that the products they consume have met halal requirements in accordance with Islamic law.

A distribution permit is a document that shows that a particular product may be circulated on the market. This permit guarantees the safety, quality, and efficacy of the product. Types of distribution permits

  • BPOM distribution permit for drugs and food produced domestically or abroad
  • Distribution permit for traditional medicines, quasi-drugs, health supplements
  • Distribution permit for notification of cosmetics that have been notified
